Bulldogs down Dieterich 12-3; Area Roundup

DIETERICH -- Effingham St. Anthony High School continues to mow down opponents in baseball action. The Bulldogs beat Dieterich 12-3 to remain unbeaten in the National Trail Conference at 5-0 and are 9-0 overall.

St. Anthony edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then had a big eight-run second inning. Dieterich pulled within 9-3 in the third but St. Anthony tallied two more then finished out with a run in the seventh.

St. Anthony had 13 hits in the contest. Scott Renfrow was the winning pitcher on a six-hitter and improved his record to 3-0.

Teutopolis 8, North Clay 0

Teutopolis came calling and blanked North Clay (Louisville). The Wooden Shoes edged out to a 2-0 first inning led then tacked on four more in the second and never looked back.

T-town had eight hits in the contest led by D. Smith's bat with three singles, a home run and four RBI. C. Wendling hit a solo shot, J. Waldhoff had a triple and two RBI and B. Wenthe a double and an RBI.

Waldhoff and A. Borries combined in the pitching win. Both allowed one hit. Waldhoff gave up one walk and struck out 10. Borries allowed no walks and no strikeouts.

T-town is unbeaten at 10-0 on the season while North Clay dropped to 10-4.

At Louisville

This game ended in the fifth inning via the 10-run rule as Stew-Stras had a five-run third, a two-run fourth and a six-run fifth.

Garnering two hits each for the Comets were Jones, Kramer and Ohnesorge. All three players had two RBI. Vonderheide added a hit and three RBI.

Bryce Bugger picked up the pitching win as Stew-Stras improves to 4-3 on the season.

Neoga banged out 10 hits in blanking Beecher City-Cowden-Herrick. BCCH had four errors in the contest.

Neoga was led by Baker with a single, triple and three RBI, Moore with two singles and R. Walk with two singles and an RBI. A.J. Miller led BCCH with a double.

BCCH is now 0-6 in the National Trail Conference, 2-10 overall.
