Action Continues In Fifth Division American Legion Playoffs

CARMI -- Action continued in the Fifth Division American Legion Baseball Playoffs Tuesday.
The first game of the day was a continuation of a contest that started Monday and was called because of a storm in the third inning. Murphysboro came out the winner over Carmi 10-2.
Edwardsville then opened play in the tournament by defeating Harrisburg 9-7. Murphysboro continued its run with a 10-8 win over Mount Vernon. The final game was a win by Herrin over host Carmi 13-2 in seven innings.
Today's games feature Teutopolis taking on Mount Vernon at 11:30 a.m., Harrisburg facing Herrin at 3:30 p.m. and Edwardsville against Murphysboro at 7:30. The tournament continues Thursday and ends Friday with the championship at 11 a.m.
