ODIN -- Effingham Junior Legion Post 120 ended its season Monday evening when it suffered a 9-8 defeat against Carlyle in tournament play in Odin.

It was a game that featured a 3-for-3 hitting performance by Cory Osborn, including 380 foot solo blast in the first inning, but it was not enough as Post 120 concluded its season with a 20-8 season record.

"The team simply ran out of pitching after playing its eighth game in seven days," said Coach Chris Koester. "That it was a very rewarding season in light of the team’s recent tournament run and the on and off the field success gained at the College World Series in Omaha Nebraska earlier in the year.

"Thank you to the players, parents and members of the Effingham American Legion Post 120 who were incredibly supportive and patient throughout the rain soaked season. We're already making preparations to return to Omaha in 2016."
