Shelby County Legion Goes 2-2 During Weekend

Shelby County Legion Posts 289-611-725 went 3-2 during weekend action in the Paris/Danville Baseball Tournament.

In Friday action, Shelby County lost to Newburgh, Ind. 7-0. The squad had five hits led by Christian Vonderheide with three singles.

Shelby County then defeated Sullivan, Ind. 10-0. Shelby County took a 2-0 first inning lead and never looked back. Alex Allen had three singles. Luke McConnell added two singles and two RBI. Trevor Moore had a triple.

In Saturday play, Shelby County defeated Paris Legion Post 211 9-3. Shelby County stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead then had a five-run second.

Romack had a single, two doubles and three RBI for the winners. Vonderheide added a single, double and an RBI while Allen had two singles.

Shelby County Legion then beat Mattoon Legion Post 88 6-2. Shelby County had two three-run innings in the third and fourth innings.

Shelby County had eight hits led by Romack with three singles, Cole with a single, triple and two RBI and Vonderheide with a double.

In Sunday competition, Danville Post 210 blanked Shelby County 5-0. Danville took a 2-0 first inning lead and finished with eight hits. Dylan Marble pitched a five-hitter with two walks and six strikeouts.

Shelby County's Devon Deremiah had two singles.
