Effingham Post 120 Claims Doubleheader

VANDALIA -- Tyler Zuber knocked in three runs as Effingham Senior Legion Post 120 took home a 7-4 first game victory over Vandalia Legion Post at Vandalia High School Tuesday. Zuber singled in the fourth and fifth innings.
Braydon Bone picked up the pitching win on a two-hitter with one walk and six strikeouts during his four innings of work.
Effingham went up for good in the third inning, scoring two runs on an RBI double by Eli Buhrman. Nick Miller added two singles and an RBI.
In the second contest, Effingham jumped out to an early lead and captured an 11-3 win. Seven runs in the first three innings allowed Effingham to put the game away. An RBI single by Hudson Graham during the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Braydon Bone, a two-run triple by Tyler Zuber, an RBI single by Graham and an RBI single by Zach Gardewine in the second inning supplied the early offense.
Kyle Bourgeois pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, six hits, three walks and five strikeouts.
Bone finished with two doubles, a triple and an RBI whil Zuber added a single, double and three RBI, Graham three singles and two RBI, Hoelscher two singles and a double and Gardewine three singles and three RBI.
