Effingham Junior Legion Claims Doubleheader

Effingham Post 120 Junior Legion improved its record to 10-3 on the season by sweeping a doubleheader at Breese Saturday.

Mason Hull earned the victory in the first game as Effingham defeated Breese 12-2.  Jordan McCabe, Alec Morrisey and Hull each had two hits as Effingham won in five innings.

Post 120 needed extra innings in the second game but eventually scored two runs in the ninth inning to claim an 8-6 victory. Drew Gibson, Colby Utz and Cory Osborn pitched Effingham to victory while Brent Beals contributed two hits and three RBI’s at the plate.

Effingham will travel to Newton today for a doubleheader, weather permitting.
