Final Season Statistics For EHS, Teutopolis Baseball Teams

Effingham and Teutopolis high schools had good baseball seasons this year with the Wooden Shoes finishing third in the Class 2A State Tournament.

The Hearts picked up a regional championship before ending the season in the Class 3A Salem Sectional. The Hearts finished with a 21-13 record, winning 11 of their last 13 games.

Carter Hayes led in hitting average with a .381. Hayes had 43 hits with 12 doubles, 11 home runs and 47 RBI. Brennan Poland had a .384 average with 40 hits, 27 singles, 12 doubles and a triple. He drove in 30 runs.

Jacob Dust, .333 average, 1 hit, 1 single

Lane Koenig, .236 average, 17 hits, 14 singles, 3 doubles, 7 RBI

Michael Woltman, .248 average, 25 hits, 17 singles, 8 doubles, 12 RBI

Reed Schafer, .277 average, 23 hits, 18 singles, 5 doubles, 10 RBI

Ryan Barnes, .200 average, 3 hits, 2 singles, 1 double, 3 RBI

Swayde Sanders, .375 average, 9 hits, 5 singles, 3 doubles, 1 home run, 5 RBI

 

Teutopolis finished third in state with a 32-6-1 record. Leading the Shoes in hitting were Jordan Thoele with 36 hits, 14 singles, 14 doubles, two triples and six home run.  He led in RBI with 38.

Austin Hartke had 38 hits with 26 singles, six doubles and six home runs. He finished with 36 RBI. Brock Mette had 41 hits with 26 singles, 10 doubles, two triple and three home run. He finished with 25 RBI. Louis Niemerg had 45 hits, 36 singles, 7 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 28 RBI.
