South Central Downs Shelby County Legion In DH

KINMUNDY -- The South Central Muddawgs defeated Shelby County Legion Posts 289-611-725 in a baseball doubleheader Tuesday.

South Central took a 2-0 lead in the second inning and went on to beat Shelby County 8-2. Clint Meadows and Dylan Brauer each allowed two hits for South Central.  Brauer ended up with the pitching win.

The Muddawgs had 10 hits led by Austin Schwarm with two singles, a home run and four RBI, Dathan Berning with a single, double and two RBI and Quinn Wakins with two singles and an RBI.

Shelby County was led by Devon Deremiah with a double.

 In the second contest, South Central edged Shelby County 5-4. The score was tied at 4-4 until the bottom of the sixth when South Central tallied the winning run.

Schwarm had a double while Berning had a double and an RBI.

Christian Vonderheide led Shelby County with two doubles and an RBI and Deremiah had a single, double and an RBI.
