Effingham Junior High Baseball Camp, Clinic

The Mustangs Effingham Junior High Baseball Clinic, Camp will be held July 20-22 at EHS Junior High Field and EJHS batting cages.

This is for boys entering grades fourth through eighth. Cost is $40. Instructors will be EJHS Coach Rod Wiethop, IHSA Hall of Famer Larry Gariepy and former Greenville College player Zac Miller.

Wear a T-shirt, shorts or baseball pants and a cap. Campers should arrive 10 minutes before each session and picked up within 15 minutes of the close of a session. Times are from 9 a.m. to noon.

Areas to be focused on are base-running, teaching how to slide, bunting to hit, bunting to sacrifice and squeeze, infield play, outfield play, hitting in the cage, pitching: holding runners, proper mechanics, changeup, pickoff plays and game situations, the mental approach to hitting, the mental side of pitching and backing up throws and infield and outfield alignment.

Tryouts are two weeks after camp.

PARENTAL RELEASE

I hereby authorize the staff of Effingham Junior High Baseball Clinic to act for me according to their best judgment in any emergency requiring medical attention and I hereby waive and release the Clinic from any and all liability for any injury or illness incurred while at camp. I have no knowledge of any physical impairment that would be affected by the named camper's participation in the camp program, as outlined.
