T-town, Dieterich, Newton Claim Baseball Wins

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis High School had a five-run second and finished out with a 7-2 win over Olney in baseball action Thursday.
The Wooden Shoes banged out four doubles in the contest. Jordan Thoele had a single, double and three RBI while Austin Hartke, John Kreke and Brock Mette had a double each. Mette added an RBI. Louis Niemerg, Austin Johnson and Jacob Roepke had two singles each. Roepke added an RBi.
Kyle Smith picked up the pitching win on a four-hitter with four walks and four strikeouts to improve to 4-2-1.
The Shoes are now 23-5-1 on the season while Olney drops to 16-10. T-town will play host to Highland today.

At Windsor
Tuscola scored two runs in the top of the seventh to claim a 4-1 victory over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg.
Tuscola led 2-0 until the sixth when WSS tallied a run to pull within 2-1. But Tuscola scored two more to put the contest away.
Derek Moschenrose had a double and an RBI for the Hatchets while Nic Hutchinson added a double.

Patoka held a 1-0 lead after the first but Dieterich came back quickly with a six-run second inning. The Maroons held off Patoka for a 9-6 victory.
Dieterich had 14 hits in the contest led by Bohnhoff with four singles and an RBI and Thoele with a single, double and an RBI.
Schmidt picked up the pitching win, going two innings, allowing no runs, no hits, one walk and striking out three.

Neoga held a 3-2 lead until the fifth inning when Newton tallied three runs and finished out with a 6-4 victory.
Brock Mammoser was the winning pitcher on a four-hitter with four strikeouts. Bierman had two singles, a dobule and an RBI for the winners. Jansen chipped in with a single and double.
Newton is now 14-8 on the season.

Mulberry Grove edged out to a 2-0 first inning lead and then held off Brownstown/St. Elmo for a 9-7 win.
Mulberry Grove had 12 hits while BSE had eight. BSE was led by Noah Flowers and Cole Horner with a single and a double each. Flowers added an RBI. Lewis Brown, Isaac Maxey and Nate Matthews had a double each. Brown and Matthews had two RBI.
BSE drops to 9-14 on the season.
