Bulldogs Drop Loss To Charleston, Area Baseball Roundup

CHARLESTON -- Effingham St. Anthony scored quickly, taking a 2-0 lead on Charleston in the first inning. But that's all the runs the Bulldogs were to produce as the Trojans came back for a 5-2 victory in baseball competition Wednesday.

Charleston outhit the Bulldogs 9-4 with four doubles. Crews had two doubles and an RBI while Wilson had a double and an RBI and McGahey a single and double.

St. Anthony had four hits in the game with Bryar Jansen leading with a double and driving in the only two runs the Bulldogs had.

The Trojans threw five pitchers at the Bulldogs.

At Charleston

At Brownstown

Odin did all the scoring in this one, taking a 6-0 win over Brownstown/St. Elmo.

The Eagles edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then had a two-run third and a three-run sixth.

Nix picked up the pitching win on a two-hitter with two walks and eight strikeouts. G. Wood had a single and double for the winners while Horton added a double.

Cole Horner and Drake Hall had the two hits for the Bombers with a single each. BSE drops to 5-9.

At Brownstown

At Ramsey

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg banged out 17 hits and downed Ramsey 16-2 in six innings via the 10-run rule Wednesday.

WSS had six doubles in the onslaught. Josh Overbeck had two doubles and four RBI while Devon Deremiah had a single, two doubles and two RBI. Ted Kessler added a double and an RBI while Dylan Ohnesorge had two doubles and an RBI. Jacob Kramer, Derek Moshenrose and Mark Jones had two singles each. Moshenrose had an RBI.

Tyler Kemper picked up the pitching win on a seven-hitter with one walk and seven strikeouts.
