An eight-run fourth inning sealed a victory for the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes Tuesday as they downed the St. Anthony Bulldogs 11-1 in a five-inning game.
The baseball game at Wooden Shoe Field was heard on 979XFM and www.979xfm.com.
The Shoes got the leadoff man on base in the second, third and fourth innings and scored in each of those innings; one run in the second, two runs in the third, and then eight runs in the fourth that put the game away. The Bulldogs scored their lone run in the top of the fifth, but it wasn't enough to prevent T-Town from winning via the 10-run rule.
Louis Niemerg pitched a dandy game for Teutopolis, striking out nine batters in the five-inning affair and allowing just two hits. Zach Gardewine took the loss for St. Anthony.
Teutopolis improved to 11-2 on the season. St. Anthony is now 9-6 on the campaign.
