T-town's Bobby Wenthe Named Co-OVC Player Of Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois freshman designated hitter Bobby Wenthe was named the co-Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week after helping the Panthers post a 4-1 record last week including an OVC series win at Belmont over the weekend. EIU returns to action Tuesday with a 6 p.m. game at No. 9 Illinois.

Wenthe, a Teutopolis High School graduate, had a big week at the plate starting all five games for the Panthers. He hit .556 for the week with a slugging percentage of 1.389. Wenthe was 10-for-18 at the plate with four home runs, three doubles, seven runs scored and 11 RBI.

Wenthe is hitting .381 for the season.
