TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis High School pushed its record to 9-2 on the season with a 6-1 baseball victory over Dieterich Thursday.

The Wooden Shoes edged out to a 1-0 lead in the third inning. Dieterich tied the score in the top of the fourth but the Shoes tallied two more in the bottom of the frame then scored three in the fifth.

T-town had 12 hits, five of those doubles. Johnson had a single, double and an RBI while Flach had two singles and a double. Niemerg, Thoele and Mette had a double each. Hartke added two singles.

D. Smith picked up the pitching win on a two-hitter with two walks and 12 strikeouts. K. Smith stepped in for the save allowing no hits, no walks and striking out four.

Dieterich's two hits were by Campton and Shoemaker. The Maroons drop to 0-6.

At Brownstown

Brownstown/St. Elmo took a 1-0 first inning lead and went on for a 6-0 win over Ramsey.

Lewis Brown pushed his pitching record to 2-0 by going six innings, allowing one hit, five walks and striking out six.

Cole Horner had a single, double and two RBI for the winners who improve to 3-7.

At Pana

The Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Hatchets took a 4-0 lead, tacked on six in the third and two more in the sixth for a 12-2 victory over Pana.

The Hatchets had eight hits in the contest led by Nic Hutchison with two singles and an RBI, Derek Moshenrose with two singles and an RBI, Devon Deremiah with two singles and two RBI and Josh Overbeck with the lone extra base hit of the contest, a double.

Both teams had four hits but Neoga pulled out a 5-4 win over Cumberland in the seventh.

The Indians took a 2-0 first inning lead then tacked on two more in the fourth. Cumberland came back with a four-run fifth to knot the score.  But Neoga tallied the winning run in the top of the seventh.

Hill had a home run and drove in two runs for the winners. Neoga improves to 9-2.

Cumberland was led by Cutts with a single, double and an RBI and Napier with a home run and three RBI.

Newton ended this game in the fifth via the 10-run rule by downing Marshall 12-2.

The Eagles had 12 hits in the contest led by Meinhart with three doubles and two RBI, Carr with two singles and an RBI and Jansen with two singles and an RBI.
