EHS Beats Altamont In Baseball Action

Effingham High School claimed an 11-4 win over Altamont in baseball action Wednesday.

The Hearts stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead and led 6-4 going into the sixth. EHS then put the contest away with a five-run sixth.

EHS had 11 hits in the contest with four of those doubles. Brennan Poland and Hudson Graham had two doubles and two RBI each. Blake White chipped in with two doubles and Michael Woltman had a double and an RBI. Carter Hayes added two singles and an RBI.

Ryan Barnes picked up the pitching win. He went 3.2 innings allowing two hits, two walks and striking out two.

Altamont was led by Dalton Ricketts with a single, double and an RBI.

Altamont won the junior varsity contest 3-1.
