Mark Niebrugge Earns GLVC Pitcher of the Week Honors

After red-shirting his freshman year because of surgery and seeing limited action last year, Mark Niebrugge, a 2012 graduate of Teutopolis High School, has earned a starting position in the pitching rotation for the Quincy University Hawks.

Quincy played Bellarmine University of Louisville, Ky. Sunday. He threw a complete seven inning game, allowing just one hit with eight strikeouts. Quincy won the game 4-0.

Niebrugge has pitched 19 innings, allowing nine hits and three runs with 18 strikeouts for a 1.42 ERA. He has a 4-0 record.

He earned the Great Lakes Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week honors. Quincy's next action is against Rockhurt University in Kansas City Saturday and Sunday.
