WSS, Newton, North Clay Nab Baseball Wins

WINDSOR -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg High School handed Mulberry Grove an 11-7 loss in baseball action Saturday.

The Hatchets took a 5-2 opening inning lead then pushed that to 11-3 after two. WSS had six hits in the contest led by Devon Deremiah with two singles and two RBI, Ted Kessler with two singles and Tristan Warner with a double and two RBI.

Deremiah also was the winning pitcher.

At Windsor

At Newton

Newton banged out 14 hits in this contest and defeated Lawrenceville 13-3 in six innings.

The Eagles trailed 3-1 in the top of the third before breaking loose with five runs in the bottom of the frame. Newton tallied a single run in the fourth and finished the game in the sixth with six runs.

Brock Mammoser had two singles, a home run and three RBI for the Eagles. Mitch Bierman added two doubles, Blake Probst two singles and four RBI and Mitch Jansen and Mike Carr two singles and an RBI each.

North Clay (Louisville) handed Olney an 11-4 loss in action Saturday.

The Cardinals had two four-run innings in the second and sixth. The Cardinals had 17 hits in the contest led by Braden McNeely with two singles and two RBI. Austin Stinnett with two singles and two RBI and Collin Warren with three singles and an RBI.

North Clay is now 3-0 on the season.
