SIUE Claims Baseball Doubleheader

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- SIU baseball banged out a seaon high 18 hits in game one and scored a ninth-inning run in game two to sweep a doublehader from Jacksonville State Sunday.
The Sunday sweep completed a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series sweep for the Cougars.
SIUE won 12-4 and 2-1 and improved to 3-0 in the OVC and 3-8 overall. Jacksonville State fell to 0-3 in the OVC, 6-6 overall.
Effingham High School graduate Chase Green was three-for-five with a pair of RBIs in the first game for SIUE and then drove in two more runs in the nightcap.

For the second week in a row, Eastern Illinois' baseball schedule was moved around due to snow.
Last week the Panthers moved their Ohio Valley Conference opening series to Austin Peay with the Governors winning the first two games of the series Sunday 11-5 and 6-3.
EIU fell to 0-8, 0-2 in the OVC. APSU improved to 7-4, 2-0 in the OVC.
