Cubs, Cardinals, Sox Pitchers, Catchers Hold First Workout Today

Pitchers and catchers of the Cubs, Cardinals and White Sox will hold their first workouts of spring training today in Arizona. Position players will report next week. The Cubs begin exhibition play with split squad games against the A's and Giants on March 5. The Sox open up against the Dodgers on March 4.

The Cardinals will hold their first formal workout of spring training today in Jupiter, Florida. Pitchers and catchers reported to Roger Dean Stadium Thursday. The full squad is due in camp on Tuesday. The Cardinals play their first Grapefruit League game March 5 against the Miami Marlins.

Giants' Bochy Admitted To Hospital

(Scottsdale, AZ)  --  The San Francisco Giants have announced that manager Bruce Bochy was admitted to a local hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona.  He underwent a heart procedure on Thursday in which two stents were inserted after he experienced discomfort during his physical exam on Wednesday.  Bochy is currently resting comfortably and will be released from the hospital Friday.
