Effingham St. Anthony had a big four-run second inning and went on to down Teutopolis 5-2 in junior high baseball action Monday.
T-town came back with two runs in the fourth but the Bulldogs tacked on an insurance run in the fifth. Dust had a single and a double for the winners while Jansen had two singles and an RBI. Hammer and Walsh had a single and an RBI each.
Mette led T-town with a double and an RBI.
St. Anthony improves to 6-2 on the season.

Effingham 10, Charleston 9
After trailing Charleston 3-2, Effingham put together two four run innings to pull out a 10-9 win. The victory gives the Mustangs a 9-1 record.
Effingham had seven hits in the contest led by Beals with two singles and two RBI and Donaldson with a double and three RBI. Charleston drops to 6-3 on the season.
Effingham is back in action today at Sigel St. Michael.

Dieterich picked up a win over Beecher City. Dieterich had seven hits in the contest while Beecher City had one hit.
Dieterich took a 3-0 first inning lead and ended the game in the fifth. C. Thoele had a single, double and an RBI to lead Dieterich. The lone hit for Beecher City came from Jeff Stoldt with a single.

North Clay had 14 hits in the contest and finished with a 21-0 win over Clay City.
North Clay was led by M. Lovett with two singles, a double and two RBI and B. Walker with two doubles, a triple and four RBI. Q. Aldrich added a single, triple and three RBI. North Clay improves to 6-2 and is back in action Thursday hosting Cisne.

Mattoon broke through with two runs in the second to take the lead. Jasper County tied in the fourth but Mattoon took a 3-2 lead in the fifth then pushed that to 5-3 in the top of the sixth and led 8-3 in the seventh.
Jasper County had a comeback bid, scoring three in the bottom of the seventh but fell short. Nate Meinhart had three singles for Jasper County while Mitch Bierman and Lucas Geier had a single and a triple. Jasper County drops to 6-2.
