(Denver, CO) -- Former Cardinals infielder Daniel Descalso is now with the Colorado Rockies. The 28-year-old infielder has agreed to a two-year, $3.6-million deal with the Rockies. He can earn an extra one-million in incentives. Descalso played his first five seasons with St. Louis, batting .242 in 2014.


Fujikawa Joins Rangers

(Arlington, TX) -- Former Cubs pitcher Kyuji Fujikawa has agreed to a one-year deal with the Rangers. Fujikawa appeared in 27 games over the last two seasons with the Cubs, posting a 1-1 record with a 5.04 ERA.


Woman Accused Of Stalking Cubs President Given Probation

(Chicago, IL) -- A woman accused of stalking Cubs President Theo Epstein is getting probation. The "Chicago Sun-Times" reports Kathleen Kearney was sentenced to 24-months of probation Tuesday in a Cook County courtroom as part of a plea deal.


White Sox Sign Cabrera

The Chicago White Sox and outfielder Melky Cabrera made it official on Tuesday, agreeing to a three-year, $42 million contract. Cabrera spent the past two seasons with Toronto and last year batted .301 with 16 homers, 35 doubles and 73 RBI in 139 games. The 30-year-old Dominican native played his first five seasons with the New York Yankees, winning a World Series title in 2009, then spent 2010 with Atlanta, 2011 with Kansas City and 2012 with the San Francisco Giants. Cabrera was the All-Star Game MVP in 2012 and posted a .346 average with 11 homers and 60 RBI in 113 games with the Giants until he was suspended 50 games for a violation of baseball's drug policy.

The White Sox have signed veteran pitcher Brad Penny to a minor league deal that includes an invitation to spring training.  The 36-year-old Penny returned after nearly a two-year absence and was 2-and-1 with a 6.58 ERA with the Marlins last season.
