The Cardinals are bringing in Bill Mueller to be their assistant hitting coach. The former American League batting champion replaces David Bell as the assistant to hitting coach John Mabry.

Bell is now the Cardinals' bench coach, replacing the departed Mike Aldrete.

Miami Signs Stanton

The Miami Marlins have signed All-Star outfielder Giancarlo Stanton to the largest contract in North American team sports history. The Marlins and Stanton agreed to a 13-year, $325 million deal. Stanton was eligible for free agency in two years.

The Toronto Blue Jays have reportedly signed catcher Russell Martin to a five-year, $82 million contract. Martin had received a qualifying offer from the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs had also been interested.
