(New York, NY)  --  Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw is the National League Most Valuable Player.  He received all 18-of-30 first-place votes to beat out Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton and 2013 winner Andrew McCutchen of the Pittsburgh Pirates.  Kershaw won his second straight NL Cy Young Award on Wednesday and is the first to win both the Cy Young and MVP in the National League in the same season since Bob Gibson in 1968.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim outfielder Mike Trout is the American League Most Valuable Player.  He received all 30 first-place votes to beat out Detroit Tigers designated hitter Victor Martinez and Cleveland Indians outfielder Michael Brantley.  Trout finished second each of the last two years, but broke through this season after hitting .287 with 36 home runs and an AL-best 111 RBI, helping the Angels to an AL West title and baseball's best record.
