Royals Host Giants For Game Six
(Kansas City, MO) -- The Kansas City Royals are facing elimination Tuesday as they host the San Francisco Giants in Game Six of the World Series. The Giants are up 3-2 in the best-of-seven Series after a 5-0 win over KC in Game Five on Sunday from AT&T Park. A win would give the Giants their third World Series title in the last five seasons.
San Francisco was up 3-2 in the 2002 World Series as well but ended up losing in seven games. The Royals are trying to force a Game Seven, which would be on Wednesday night. KC has one title under its belt in 1985. First pitch Tuesday is scheduled for 8:07 p.m.
Cardinals Continue To Mourn Tavares
(St. Louis, MO) -- The Cardinals continue to mourn the loss of 22-year-old outfielder Oscar Tavares. Cards skipper Mike Matheny says Tavares' death is like a "bad dream that could not be real." Tavares and his girlfriend died Sunday in a single-car crash in the Dominican Republic.
Bench coach Mike Aldrete is leaving the Cardinals for the same position with the Oakland Athletics. Aldrete worked as the bench coach for the Cards for the last three seasons. He previously worked under A's manager Bob Melvin in Seattle and Arizona.
