Pairings Announced for NTC Baseball Tournament

The 2014 National Trail Conference Baseball Tournament is significantly changed from previous years; the tournament will be played in Effingham.

In the past, early rounds were played at the home of the higher seeds; now, all games will be played at either Paul Smith Field at Community Park or at Evergreen Hollow Park.

The tournament begins Monday, October 6. At Paul Smith, top-seeded South Central will play #8 seed BCCH at 4:15pm and then #4 seed Dieterich will take on fifth-seeded St. Anthony at 7pm. At Evergreen Hollow, #3 seed Altamont will play seventh-seeded Brownstown/St. Elmo at 4:15pm and then #3 seed Windsor/Stew-Stras will take on sixth-seeded Neoga at 7pm.

The second round of the tournament will be played on Wednesday, October 8. The championship round semifinals will played at Paul Smith, while the consolation round semifinals will be played at Evergreen Hollow. Games at both venues on Wednesday will begin at 4:15pm and 7pm.

The finals will be played on Friday, October 10. The consolation championship game will be played at 4:15pm at Evergreen Hollow. The third place game and championship game will be played at Paul Smith; third place game at 4:15pm and the championship game at 7pm.
