WINDSOR -- Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor waited until late in the game to score then held off a final inning challenge by Effingham St. Anthony for a 4-2 high school baseball victory Tuesday.

Neither team scored in the first four innings. Stew-Stras then tallied four runs in the fifth. Jacob Kramer led off with a single followed by a fielder's choice that didn't get an out on a ball hit by Mark JOnes. Devon Deremiah followed with a single and Nic Hutchison and Kramer hit back-to-back singles and when the dust had cleared Stew-Stras/Windsor was up 4-0.

The Bulldogs made a comeback bid in the seventh. Bryar Jansen led off the inning with a double. With one out, Brandon Puckett drew a walk. The Bulldogs put up their second out before a double by Greg Utz scored two runs. But the final out came on a ground ball.

Mark Jones picked up the pitching win on a four-hitter with two walks and six strikeouts.

Neoga stepped out to a 4-0 first inning lead and went on for a 10-0 victory over Brownstown/St. Elmo in six innings.

The Indians banged out 14 hits int he game led by Monroe with a single and triple, Hoedebecke, Kingery, Moore and Hill with two singles each.

BSE had three hits, all singles, by three different players.

Dieterich took a 1-0 first inning lead then tacked on a single run in the second and fourth innings and three in the third for a 6-2 win over Odin.

The Movin' Maroons had eight hits led by Poe with a isngle, doubel and an RBI and Bohnhoff with two singles and an RBI. Thoele had a single and drove in two runs. Bohnhoff picked up the pitching win on a four-hitter with five walks and eight strikeouts.

Altamont blanked Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick 5-0 in a National Trail Conference contest Tuesday.

The Indians edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead and had a seven-hit attack. N. Miller and Wolff combined to pitch a two-hitter with one walk and nine strikeouts.

Wolff had a double and an RBI for the Indians while  N. Miller had two RBI. Finn added a single and an RBI.

At Altamont
