Teutopolis Downs St. Anthony, 12-2 in Six Innings

The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes concluded their fall baseball season with a perfect record Friday, defeating their arch-rival, the St. Anthony Bulldogs 12-2 in a six-inning game at Wooden Shoe Field.

It was 2-2 after one inning, but the Shoes scored single runs in the second, third and fourth innings to take a 5-2 lead, and then put the game away with five runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth to win by the 10-run rule.

Louis Niemerg went the distance for the win for Teutopolis, allowing two unearned runs on four hits, not walking a batter and fanning nine. Niemerg finished the fall with a 5-0 record. Kyle Bourgeois took the loss for the Bulldogs, allowing 10 runs, but just three earned, on nine hits and a walk with one strikeout in four innings of work. Will Clausius pitched the final 1-2/3 innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits with one strikeout.

Smith led Teutopolis with three hits. Two hits apiece were registered by Roepke, Niemerg, Kreke, Johnson and Bloemer, with Roepke, Thoele and Bloemer each driving in two runs, and Niemerg, Johnson and Smith driving in a run apiece.

St. Anthony got a double from Clausius and singles from Drew Gibson, Jacob Lorenz and Zach Gardewine.

Teutopolis went 20-0 and will play host to Salem Saturday.

 

At Neoga

Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg claimed a 13-2 win over Neoga in action Friday. Windsor/Stew-Stras led 1-0 after the first inning then had a six-run third and finished the game in the sixth via the 10-run rule.

Windsor/Stew-Stras had 12 hits in the contest led by Devon Deremiah with three singles, Nic Hutchinson with a single, double and an RBI, Isaac Kramer with two singles and an RBI, Dalton Armes with two singles and two RBI, Jacob Kramer with a double and three RBI and Derek Moschenrose with a triple and three RBI.

Neoga had six hits, all singles by six different players.
