Dieterich Edges St. A, Area Baseball Roundup

DIETERICH -- A. Bohnhoff pitched a three-hitter as Dieterich High School edged Effingham St. Anthony 2-1 in baseball action Thursday.

The Movin' Maroons tooks a 1-0 lead in the fifth. St. Anthony came back to knot the score in the top of the sixth. Dieterich then tallied the win with a run in the bottom of the sixth.

Dieterich had six hits in the contest led by M. Mellendorf and C. Campton with two singles each. A. Bohnhoff aided his own cause with a single and an RBI.

J. Lorenz led the Bulldogs with a double.

At Patoka

Brownstown/St. Elmo blasted Patoka 14-0 in five innings via the 10-run rule. BSE took a 2-0 first inning lead then had a nine-run fifth to end the contest.

Elijah Austin, Malachi Maxey, Noan Flowers, Landon Feezel and Lewis Brown had two singles each for BSE. Maxey and Flowers had three RBI each while Brown had two RBI and Feezel one.

BSE is now 3-0 in the Egyptian-Illini Conference and 4-6 overall.

Teutopolis banged out 10 hits and took a 8-2 victory over North Clay (Louisville). The Shoes held a 2-0 first inning lead before North Clay came back with a run in the fourth. The Shoes then put the game away with a four-run fifth.

The Shoes had six extra base hits led by J. Bloemer with two doubles, B. Mette with a double, home run and two RBI, A. Hartke with a single, double and two RBI and L. Niemerg with a single, double and an RBI. The Shoes are now 13-0 on the season. D. Smith picked up the pitching win to improve to 3-0.

A. Stinnett had a double and an RBI for the Cardinals. North Clay drops to 9-5.
