Bulldogs Beat Neoga, Area Baseball Roundup

Jacob Lorenz went three-for-four as Effingham St. Anthony High School edged Neoga 5-4 in baseball action Tuesday.

Lorenz banged out a single and two doubles for the Bulldogs while Braden Puckett had a single, double and drove in two runs. Will Clausius added a double and an RBI.

Matt Kingery led Neoga with a double, home run and an RBI. Sawyer James and Sage Thode had a double each. Thode had two RBI.

At Effingham

At Kinmundy

Teutopolis was to play host to South Central but due to wet grounds moved the game to Kinmundy and walked away with a 6-5 win. The Wooden Shoes trailed 5-4 going into the bottom of the seventh then scored two runs to pull out the victory and remain unbeaten at 12-0.

South Central outhit T-town 11-6. Powless had a single, a home run and two RBI while Smith had three singles, Wilkins two singles and Hill a single and double.

T-town was led by Thoele with a single and double, Johnson with two singles and Kreke with a solo home run. K. Smith picked up the pitching win, going 2.1 innings, allowing three hits, one run and striking out two to improve to 3-0.

At Kinmundy

Altamont had an eight-run fourth inning and went on for a 10-1 victory over Brownstown/St. Elmo.

C. Miller picked up the four-hit pitching win with no walks and seven strikeouts. Winn had a double and home run for the winners. K. Wolff had a home run. C. Miller had a double.

BSE drops to 2-4 in the National Trail Conference, 3-6 overall.

The two teams went scoreless through two innings before Dieterich tallied two runs in the third, tacked on a single run in the fourth and finished the game with a seven-run sixth for a 10-0 win over Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick.

The Movin' Maroons outhit BCCH 13-4. C. Campton and T. Poe had two singles, a double and three RBI each. R. Shoemaker added a single, double and an RBI and C. Hartke had a double and an RBI.

B. Randall led BCCH with a double.
