Windsor/Stew-Stras Posts Win Over Brownstown/St. Elmo

A three-run third inning helped Windsor/Stew-Stras to a 5-2 baseball win over Brownstown/St. Elmo Friday.
W/SS took a 1-0 lead in the first, but B/SE tied it in the second. The three-run third gave W/SS a 4-1 lead and a run in the fourth extended the lead to 5-1. B/SE scored in the sixth.
Josh Overbeck got the victory for W/SS, allowing two runs, one earned on five hits and a walk in six innings of work. Devon Deremiah pitched the seventh to pick up a save, striking out two.
Drake Hall took the loss for B/SE, allowing all five runs, two earned, on four hits and seven walks in 3-1/3 innings, striking out one. Noah Flowers pitched the final 2-2/3 innings, allowing two hits and fanning two.
Devon Deremiah doubled twice, scored twice and drove in a run to lead the W/SS attack. Also for W/SS: Nic Hutchinson doubled, scored and drove in a run; Jacob Kramer doubled and drove in a run; Derek Moshenrose singled, Dalton Armes singled and drove in two runs; and Chase Thies and Trevor Quast each scored a run.
For B/SE: Noah Flowers singled twice; Elijah Austin singled; Landon Feezel singled and scored; Jeffrey Kelley singled and drove in a run; and Dalton Denton scored a run.
Windsor/Stew-Stras improved to 3-2 on the fall, 2-1 in the National Trail Conference. Brownstown/St. Elmo is now 3-5, 2-3 in the conference race.
