Louis Niemerg pitched a no-hitter in leading the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes to a 4-0 win over the St. Anthony Bulldogs Friday at Paul Smith Field in Community Park.
Niemerg only walked one batter and fanned 13 to post the impressive victory. Of his 96 pitches, 70 were thrown for strikes.
Zach Gardewine took the loss for St. Anthony, allowing four runs, three earned, on 10 hits and a walk while fanning three.
Bloemer, at the bottom of the order, had three hits for the Wooden Shoes, scored a run and drove in a run. Niemerg, Roepke, Thoele, Hartke, Kreke, Johnson and Smith also had hits for T-Town, with Niemerg, Thoele and Kreke each driving in a run.
Ironically, Gardewine worked the walk off Niemerg for the Bulldogs; the other St. Anthony runner reached via an error.
Teutopolis is now 11-0 on the fall; Niemerg improved to 3-0.
