Effingham Junior High School took a 7-1 first inning lead and went on to down Charleston 11-7 in baseball competition Thursday.
Jackson led the Mustangs with a single, double and three RBI. Wolfe had a single and drove in two runs. Wolfe also picked up the pitching win, going five innings, allowing three hits, three walks and striking out six.
The Mustangs are now 3-0 in the conference, 12-2 overall.

Teutopolis Junior High School improved its baseball record to 11-4 by blanking Flora 13-0 in five innings Thursday.
Dawson Smith, Mitch Hardiek and Clint Weber combined to pitch a no-hitter. Smith went two innings with one walk and five strikeouts. Hardiek pitched two innings with two walks and two strikeouts. Weber finished out the game with no walks and one strikeout.
T-town took a 4-0 lead in the second inning and never looked back. Josh Hardiek had a single, double and an RBI while Mitch Apke also had a single, double and an RBI.
