Altamont's Wolff PItches No-Hitter, Area Baseball Roundup

WINDSOR -- Altamont High School's Klaiton Wolff pitched a no-hit shutout as the Indians blanked Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor 3-0 in National Trail Conference baseball action Tuesday.

Wolff went through seven innings allowing no hits, three walks and striking out seven.

Altamont took a 1-0 first inning lead then pushed that to 2-0 in the second and finished out with a final run in the fifth. Winn had two singles while Ricketts had a double to lead the Indians.

At Beecher City

Effingham St. Anthony bounced Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick 17-4 behind an 15-hit attack in National Trail Conference action.

The Bulldogs held a 7-1 lead after two innings then had a six-run fourth. Zach Gardewine pitched the three-hit win. Lorenz had four singles while Braden Puckett had a single, triple and three RBI. Gardewine had a single and a two-run homer. Bourgeois finished with three singles and a double. Branden Puckett added two singles.

Rexroad had a double and an RBI for BCCH.

South Central claimed a 12-2 win over Brownstown/St. Elmo in National Trail Conference play. The Cougars stepped out to a 4-1 first inning lead and never looked back. Dylan Peters picked up the three-hit pitching win with three walks and nine strikeouts.

Powless had three singles and a home run while Smith had two singles and Peters a double. The Cougars are unbeaten at 5-0.

Brownstown/St. Elmo was led by Drake Hall with two singles. The Bombers drop to 2-2 in the conference, 3-4 overall.

At Kinmundy

Teutopolis scored a walloping 11 runs in the first inning and trounced Wayne City 15-0 in five innings

M. Koester moved his pitching record to 2-0, going four innings in relief of  L. Deters, allowing one hit, one walk and striking out six.

The Wooden Shoes had 14 hits led by B. Mette with a single, double and two RBI, A. Hartke with a single, double and three RBI, M. Goeckner with three singles and three RBI and T. Westendorf with two singles and an RBI. The Shoes improve to 8-0. Wayne City drops to 0-2.

Sawyer James hit a two-out walk-off two-run homer as Neoga claimed a 4-3 win over Dieterich in National Trail Conference action Tuesday.

Neoga held a 2-0 lead after one inning. Dieterich came back with a run in the second and tied the score in the fourth. The Maroons moved ahead 3-2 in the sixth.

The Indians are now 2-0 in the NTC, 2-4 overall.
