T-town Beats Putnam Co. in DH, Odin Blanks BSE

CHAMPAIGN -- Teutopolis High School captured a baseball doubleheader over Granville Putnam County in action at Parkland College Saturday.

T-town won the opener 8-7, scoring the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Putnam Co. had taken a 7-0 first inning lead. T-town came back with five runs in the third then knotted the score with single runs in the fourth and fifth.

A. Johnson had a single, two doubles and drove in two runs for the Shoes. J. Kreke had a single, double and two RBI and A. Hartke a double and an RBI.

In the second contest, Putnam County took a 1-0 lead in the second. T-town tied in the fourth. Putnam Co. moved ahead 2-1 in the fifth. T-town then had a six-run seventh.

B. Bueker had three singles to lead the Shoes.

Odin came calling and blanked Brownstown/St. Elmo 3-0. Odin took a 1-0 first inning lead and tallied single runs in the fifth and seventh.

Odin had two hits, singles by Quick and Horton. Elijah Austin and Noah Flowers had a single each for BSE. BSE drops to 3-3.
