Junior High Baseball -- Sept. 2

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis Junior High School blanked Altamont 10-0 in a baseball contest moved to T-town due to wet grounds at Altamont Tuesday.

The two teams went scoreless through two innings before T-town tallied seven in the third then ended the game in the fifth with three more runs.

T-town had six hits, all singles, by six different players. Miller had a double for the only extra base hit of the contest for Altamont.

T-town improves to 8-4.

Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor went nine innings before pullig out a 5-4 win over Brownstown/St. Elmo.

The two teams scored two runs each in the first inning then went scoreless through the next six. Both tallied two runs each in the eighth inning before Stew-Stras/Windsor scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.

Bennett, Greuel and Campbell had two hits each for the winners. Greuel drove in a run.

Brownstown/St. Elmo was led by Pruett, Grames and Atwood with two hits each. Pruett had an RBI.

Paris Crestwood downed Cumberland 12-9. Cumberland held a 4-3 lead going into the fourth when Paris Crestwood tallied five runs. Cumberland came back and knotted the score at 9-9 going into the final inning. Crestwood then scored three runs for the victory.

Reid Mathenia had a single, double, triple and two RBI for Cumberland. Wyatt Bales had three singles and an RBI.
