Effingham St. Anthony Junior High School held a round robin tournament Saturday and claimed two victories.
The Bullpups defeated Newton St. Thomas 13-0 behind 12 hits. Hammer had a single, double and two RBI while Strullmeyer and Webb had two singles and an RBI each.
In the second game, St. Anthony defeated Sigel St. Michael 16-1. Guy and Koester had two singles and two RBI each.
There was no score reported for the Sigel St. Michael vs. St. Thomas game.
St. Anthony is now 7-1 on the season.

At Effingham
Effingham claimed the championship of its own invitational tournament Saturday.
Effingham blanked Oblong 11-0 in the opening contest. The Mustangs took a 4-0 first inning lead and had a seven-run second. Jackson had two singles and an RBI to lead the Mustangs.
In the second game, Casey-Westfield played Sullivan and no score was listed.
The third place game went to Oblong over Casey-Westfield 12-10.
Effingham was an 18-2 winner over Sullivan for the championship. The Mustangs took a 4-0 first inning lead and Sullivan came back with two in the second. The Mustangs then banged home 14 runs in the bottom of the frame to end the contest after three innings.
Braunecker pitched a two-hitter with two strikeouts. Kalber had a single, double and two RBI while Lee had a double, a two-run homer and four RBI. Jackson added two singles and two RBI.
In Monday competition, Effingham beat Greenville in A and B competition. In the A contest, the Mustangs won 15-5 in five innings. Hagler had two singlrs and three RBI and Wolfe a single, double and three RBI for the winners.
The Mustangs improve to 9-1 overall.
In B action, Effingham won 5-3 with a three-run third inning and a two-run sixth. Both teams had six hits. Niebrugge had two singles and an RBI for the winners.

At Newton
Teutopolis picked up a victory Friday over Jasper County, 8-3.
Mitch Hardiek had two singles, a double and drove in two runs. Mitch Apke had a double and three RBI.
Jasper County was led by Ferguson with a double.
In the sixth inning with the score tied at 3-3, Apke hit a two-out double with the bases loaded to bring home three runs.
In Saturday play, Teutopolis edged Homer Glen 7-6. T-town held a 6-3 lead until the sixth when Homer Glen tied the score at 6-6. T-town then brought home the winning run in the bottom of the sixth.
Tyler Runde had a single and double while Apke had a single, double and two RBI.
In a B game, Mattoon handed Teutopolis a 4-1 loss. T-town led 1-0 until the fourth when Mattoon tied the score then took the lead in the fifth with a run.
T-town had only one hit, a single by Kendall Tabbert.

At Strasburg
Jasper County blanked Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor 10-0 in game one of the Stew-Stras/Windsor Tournament Saturday.
Jasper County held a 2-0 first inning lead and ended the game in the fifth via the 10-run rule. Bierman, Schafer, Finn and Tharp had two hits each. Tharp had one RBI while Bierman and Schafer had two RBI. Kirby led Stew-Stras/Windsor with two hits.
In the second game, Altamont Lutheran downed Jasper County 2-0. Duckwitz pitched a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts.
Jahraus, Teasley, Guerrattaz and Reardon had one hit each. Teasley and Reardon drove in a run each.
Stew-Stras/Windsor then edged Altamont Lutheran 3-2. Altamont Lutheran held a 2-0 lead going into the fifth when S-S/Windsor knotted the score. The winning run came in the bottom of the seventh.
Greuel pitched the win allowing seven hits while striking out 14. Stew-Stras/Windsor had six hits led by Greuel and Beck with two each. Greuel drove in three runs.
