TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis Junior High School edged Effingham St. Anthony 5-4 in B baseball action Tuesday in the opener then claimed a 7-1 win in the second contest.

T-town jumped out to a 3-0 first inning lead in the first game. St. Anthony tied in the top of the third. T-town came back with two in the bottom of the third. The Bullpups mounted a comeback in the top of the fourth, scoring one run, but fell short.

Brady McMahon, Lee Nosbisch and Jacob Pals had a double and an RBI each for T-town. Kennedey Wendt added a double.

In the second game, T-town broke a 1-1 first inning tie with a run in the second, third and four in the fourth. Jacob Sarchet had a single, double and two RBI for the winners. Will Niebrugge had the lone hit for St. Anthony with a single.

At Effingham

Effingham claimed a 10-3 win over Flora Tuesday evening. The Mustangs took a 4-0 first inning lead and had a four-run fourth.

Bushur had a single, two doubles and four RBI while Lee had three singles and an RBI for the Mustangs. Kalber and Poland had two singles each. Kalber added an RBI.

EJHS improves to 6-0 on the season and hosts Homer Glen Friday.

Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor edged out to a 2-1 first inning lead and went on for a 10-4 win over Dieterich.

Beau Bennett picked up the pitching win on a five-hitter. Greuel and Beck had two hits for the winners. Greuel had three RBI and Beck one RBI.

It was a big-run game as Okaw Valley downed Neoga 16-14 in a rain-shortened game. The contest lasted six innings.

Neoga held a 7-1 lead until the fourth when Okaw Valley broke loose for 12 runs. Neoga was led by Braden Eggers with three hits, Andrew Monroe with two hits and Trenton Moore with two hits.

North Clay had 10 hits in the contest led by Briar Repking with a single, double and two RBI. Ethan Bible had two singles and two RBI and Austin Dorman had two singles and an RBI.
