Effingham St. Anthony Junior High School trounced Oblong 17-2 in baseball action Monday.

The Bullpups took a 3-2 lead in the first then blasted home 13 runs in the second inning. Tingley pitched a no-hitter while St. Anthony had 16 hits.  Guy had a single, double and three RBI while Strullmeyer had two singles, a double and four RBI. Ludwig added a single, double and an RBI. Mendella and Wortman had two singles each. Wortman had two RBI and Mendella one.

Effingham stepped out to a 1-0 first inning lead and tallied in every inning for a 12-1 win over Salem.

Lee picked up the pitching win, allowing one hit, no walks and striking out seven. Ballman came on to pitch the final inning, allowing one hit.

Kalber had two singles, a double and an RBI while Lee had two singles, a double, home run and four RBI. Bushur added two singles and an RBI and Gordon had two singles. EJHS is now 5-0 on the season.

Neoga took a 3-1 first inning lead and garnered a 9-6 win over Dieterich. Neoga had eight hits in the contest led by Trenton Moore and Chase Lanham with two hits each.

Dieterich had three hits, by Dalton, Eadin and Seth. Neoga improves to 3-2 on the season.

Luke Ungrund had two singles and drove in four runs. Lucas Drees had two singles and an RBI. T-town hosts St. Anthony today in B action.
