Effingham St. Anthony Junior High School edged Altamont 9-7 in baseball competition Tuesday.
Altamont held a 4-0 first inning lead and still led 6-3 after two. St. Anthony started its comeback with two runs in the third then tacked on four more in the fifth.
Mendella and Ludwig had a single and double each. Ludwig added two RBI. B. Niebrugge had a double and an RBI as St. Anthony improved to 3-0.
Altamont outhit the Bullpups 12-8. Biggs had three doubles and drove in four runs. Reardon had two singles and a double. Kollman and Kuhlman had two singles each with Kollman getting an RBI.

At Windsor
Cumberland stepped out to a 4-0 first inning lead and went on for a 14-2 win over Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor in five innings via the 10-run rule.
Brown had four hits and two RBI for the winners while Talley and Waggoner had three hits each. Waggoner drove in four runs. Mathenia had two hits and two RBI.
Stew-Stras/Windsor had only two hits, by Kirby and Beck with an RBI each.
