Effingham blanked Centralia 12-0 in junior high boys baseball competition Monday. The Mustangs took a 2-0 first inning lead then had a six-run second inning.

The Mustangs had 10 hits led by Jackson with a single, double and an RBI, Lee with a triple and an RBI, Whitten and Wolfe with a double each.

St. Anthony trounced  Shelbyville 22-9 behind an 18-hit attack. The Bullpups had two big innings, scoring 12 runs in the third and 10 runs in the fifth.

Guy had four singles and two RBI while Mendella had two singles, two doubles and seven RBI. Strullmyer had three singles, a double and two RBI and Wall a single, double and three RBI.

St. Anthony is now 2-0 on the season.

Neoga tallied 10 runs to take a 10-4 win over Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor in junior high baseball action Monday.

Neoga stepped out to a 3-0 first inning lead. Fletcher picked up the pitching win. McTeer had two hits for the winners.

Bennett had two hits for Stew-Stras/Windsor.

Neoga is now 2-0 on the season and back in action Thursday at Mattoon.

Teutopolis took a 4-0 first inning lead and went on to beat Greenville 11-1 in five innings via the 10-run rule.

Clint Weber had a single, double and drove in two runs while Mitch Hardiek had three singles and three RBI. Mitch Hemmen chipped in two singles and an RBI. Hemmen also picked up the pitching win, going four innings, allowing three walks and striking out three.

T-town is now 1-1 on the season and hosts Mattoon today.
