Practice begins Monday, August 11 for Effingham High School football players. Sophomores, juniors and seniors will have a walkthrough from 1-2 p.m., meetings from 2-4 p.m. and practice from 4-7 p.m.

Freshmen will just practice from 4-7 p.m. This schedule will be followed through August 14. IHSA heat acclimatization guidelines will be utilized throughout these practices. Two days with helmets only, three days with helmets and shoulder pads, with no practices lasting over three hours.

There will be a certified trainer at all practices. All players will see the trainer for any injuries before going to their doctor or the emergency room.

The Hearts cards are now being sold by EHS players. The cost is $20 this year and the cards will be sold through August 16. All players will be required to turn in their money at a meeting at 5 p.m. in the cafeteria Saturday, August 16.

The annual parents meeting will be held Monday, August 11. The doors in the cafeteria will be open at 6 p.m. with the football mom's starting the meeting. Coach McDonald will get to the meeting after practice ends at 6:30 p.m.
