Shelby County Legion Blasts Moultrie-Douglas

Shelby County Legion Posts 289-611-725 blasted Moultrie-Douglas County Senior Legion, 23-9 Thursday evening.
Shelby County edged out to a 1-0 first inning lead then led 5-1 after two. Shelby County tallied three in the third, two in the sixth, seven in the eighth and finished out with six in the ninth.
Shelby County had 17 hits in the contest as both teams played long ball. Zach Monroe had two singles, a home run and six RBI while Hayden Cole had a home run and two RBI, Luke McConnell two singles and a double, Ben Helton a single, double and an RBI, Christian Vonderheide two singles and three RBI and Tyler Hendryx two singles and three RBI.
Moultrie-Douglas was led by Dylan Hart with a home run and an RBI, Nick Bates three singles and a double and Griffin Day two singles, a double and five RBI.
Shelby County used five pitchers with Mark Jones getting the win. Moultrie-Douglas used four pitchers with Luke Armstrong suffering the loss.
