Babe Ruth Prep League -- July 15

Alex Talley pitched a three-hitter as JCR Carpentry downed Niemerg Construction 10-7 in Babe Ruth Prep League play Tuesday evening at Evergreen Hollow Park.

Niemerg Construction edged out to a 1-0 lead in the third. The score was tied at 2-2 after the fourth. Niemerg pushed into a 5-3 lead in the fifth. JCR Carpentry then came back with a four-run sixth and finished out with three in the seventh.

Ben Strullmeyer had a single, double and an RBI for the winners. Ben Mendella and Dylan Guy had a double each for Niemerg.

In the second contest, Effingham Asphalt stepped out to an 8-0 first inning lead and then had to hold off Taylor Law Offices in the final inning to pull out a 14-12 win.

Asphalt banged out 10 hits in the contest led by Ben Mendella with a single, double and two RBI, Ben Strullmeyer with three singles and three RBI and Dalton Potter with a double.

Bryan Wall led Taylor Law with a double and two RBI.
