Close games were the norm in the 11-12 Year-Old League Tournament Tuesday evening at Community Park.
Kemper CPA edged NAPA 6-5 in the opening game. NAPA held a 2-1 lead until the bottom of the fourth when Kemper took the lead 4-2 and tallied two more in the fifth to lead 6-2. NAPA attempted a comeback in the sixth but fell short.
Sam Thompson pitched the five-hitter. Luke Spencer had a single, triple and two RBI for the winners while Isaac Walk had a double.
NAPA was led by Logan Antrim with a double and Logan Arend with a double and an RBI.
In the second contest, Rhodes Chiropractic came from a three-run deficit to pull out a 5-4 win over Schumacher Orthodontics.
Schumacher took a 3-0 lead in the second and tacked on another run in the fourth to lead 4-1. Rhodes then tallied four runs in the top of the sixth for the win.
Braydon Poland and Parker Wolfe had two singles each for the winners while Jack Matteson had a double and an RBI.
Schumacher was led by Matthew Hunzinger with two singles and a double, Ben Donsbach with a home run and two RBI and Evan Evans with a double and an RBI.
The tournament comes to a close Thursday as NAPA faces Schumacher Orthodontics at 5:30 p.m. for third place while Kemper CPA meets Rhodes Chiropractic at 7:30 for the championship.
