CHICAGO -- The PAC 14U Team Extreme traveled to Chicago over the weekend and captured the Evanston "Battle of the Sandlot" Tournament championship.

The PAC defeated elite 14U teams from Michigan and Northern Illinios to claim first place honors, including three consecutive victories Sunday.

Team Extreme edged the St. Charles North Stars 7-6 in Saturday action. Jet Box 14U Kochan beat Team Extreme 4-1.

In Sunday play, Team Extreme came back to down Pleasant Prairie Patriots 9-1. In the semifinals, Team Extreme won over Lakeside Legends 6-1. That sent the squad to the title contest where Team Extreme won by bouncing the Roadrunneres 12-2.

The local team includes area players from Effingham, Teutopolis, St. Anthony and Shelbyville. The recent success marks the third tournament championship in as many tries and includes recent success in tournaments in St. Louis and Champaign.

The PAC 14 Team Extreme travels to Notre Dame this coming weekend to compete in the Golden Dome 14 Team Invitational.
