Shelby County Legion Drops Doubleheader

DECATUR -- The Shelby County Legion Posts 289-611-725 dropped a baseball doubleheader to Decatur Legion Post 105 Tuesday.
In the opener, Decatur Legion edged Shelby County Legion 7-6. The two squads were tied at 5-5 going into the seventh inning. Shelby County moved ahead 6-5 in the top of the frame but Decatur came back with two runs in the bottom of the inning to pull out the victory.
Shelby County was led in hitting by Tyler Hendryx with two singles and an RBI, Zach Monroe with a triple and an RBI and Jacob Kramer and Trevor Moore with a double each.
In the second contest, Decatur claimed a 10-9 win and, once again, came back in the bottom of the seventh to pull out the win.
Decatur trailed Shelby County 9-6 going into the final inning then tallied four runs for the win.
Hendryx again led Shelby County with a single and double while Gunner Thies had two doubles and two RBI and Tyler Romack a single, triple and three RBI.
