Junior Babe Ruth League -- June 3

Mid-Illinois Concrete and Sehy & Jones picked up big scoring victories in Junior Babe Ruth League action at Paul Smith Field Tuesday.

Mid-Illinois handed Tri-Power Towing a 10-2 defeat in the opening contest. Mid-Illinois took a quick 3-0 first inning lead and never looked back.

Brent Beals pitched a six-hitter for the win. Mid-Illinois had seven hits led by Beals with three singles and an RBI and Zach Bateman with two singles and two RBI.

Tri-Power was led by Ryan Kruger with a triple.

In the second game, Sehy & Jones Optometrists tallied an 11-3 win over Washington Savings Bank.

Both teams tallied single runs in the third inning before Sehy & Jones moved ahead with a run in the fourth then tallied runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings.

Brett Koester pitched a one-hitter. Caleb Wendt had a triple and an RBI for the winners.
