Scores from Wednesday's Post-Season Play

The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes moved into the championship game of the Greenville 2A Sectional Tournament Wednesday with a 14-1 victory over Trenton Wesclin.
A 10-run fourth inning decided the game after the Shoes scored four runs in the first. Louis Niemerg pitched the five inning contest, allowing just two hits and no walks while fanning one batter. Niemerg is now 7-3 on the spring.
At the plate for the Shoes, Justin Kenter had two hits and walked, drove in a run, and scored twice; Reed Hardiek singled twice, drove in three runs and scored a run; Bobby Wenthe singled and walked twice and scored twice; Darren Probst singled and drove in two runs and scored a run; Alex Goldstein went three for three including a double, drove in three runs and scored twice; Niemerg tripled and walked, drove in a run and scored twice; Cody Will singled three times, drove in two runs and scored twice; and Jared Thoele singled twice, drove in two runs and scored twice.
The Shoes, now 30-6, will take on the winner of Thursday's game between Shelbyville and Carmi-White County on Saturday for the sectional championship.

The Effingham Hearts saw their season come to an end in heartbreaking fashion Wednesday, losing to Salem 1-0 in eight innings at the Mattoon 3A Regional.
The game was scoreless until Salem pushed a run across in the extra frame.
Lane Koenig pitched seven innings of shutout baseball for Effingham, allowing four hits and two walks while fanning six batters. Braydon Bone pitched the eighth, retiring one batter but walking a batter and giving up three hits including a bloop single that proved to be the game winner.
Bone singled for the Hearts, Carter Hayes doubled, Brennan Poland singled, and Koenig tried to help his own cause with two singles.
The Hearts finish the season with a 19-14 record.

The South Central Cougars advanced to the championship game of the North Clay 1A Sectional Wednesday with a 6-4 win over the Dieterich Movin Maroons.
South Central will play Saturday at 1pm against the winner of Thursday's Windsor/Stew-Stras and Albion Edwards County game.
