Effingham High School took a 2-0 first inning lead and led 6-0 going into the sixth. Altamont came back with a run in the sixth and three in the seventh only to fall short.
Swayde Sanders racked up three RBI on a single and double for the Hearts. Brayden Bone added a single and double while Carter Hayes and Michael Woltman had a double and an RBI each.
Brennan Poland held Altamont hitless over five innings, walking two and striking out two for the win.
