In the lone area baseball contest Tuesday, Newton High School trounced Lawrenceville 11-1 in five innings.

Lawrenceville took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third before the Eagles broke open the contest in the bottom of the frame with seven runs then finished the game in the fifth with four more.

Shull pitched the two-hitter with nine strikeouts. Mammoser had a single, home run and four RBI while Huston had a home run and an RBI.
